Awards’ shortlist announced

The eagerly awaited shortlist of entries for the 2010 Business Travel Awards has been announced. A total of 64 companies or organisations, plus three individuals, have made it through to the final stage of the formal judging process, which takes place in November. The results of their deliberations will be announced at the awards ceremony and gala dinner at London’s Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel, on Monday, January 18. If you’ve been shortlisted and have yet to book a table, there is still time, although you’ll need to be quick, as the remaining tables are being snapped up.

“We were very impressed with the detail and creativity that went into the composition of all the entries - the initial judging of entries to reach the shortlist was no easy task,” says Mike Toynbee, editor of Buying Business Travel magazine and chairman of the judging panel. “Thank you to everyone who took the time and effort to submit an entry - the standard across the board was incredibly high.”

David Brown Outstanding Achievement Award

There is still time to submit a nomination for this all-important category: the person you feel has made a major contribution to business travel.

Renamed for the 2010 awards in honour of the late David Brown, Travelport’s popular vice president of sales for Europe, who died last year, this award is open to all. It could be a high profile individual, or someone, who, for example, has simply excelled in one way or another to make a difference. It could be a colleague, a client or even your boss. The winner will remain a closely guarded secret until the announcement on the night.
